I recite ghazals under the name Ramesh Kanwal. I am a Hindi-Bhojpuri speaker. I know the Urdu language (and script as well). Earlier I used to write poetry under the names of 'Kanwal' Shahabadi and Ramesh Prasad 'Kanwal'. When I lived in Jagdal of 24 Parganas district in West Bengal, I used to take guidance from Mr. 'Wafa' Sikanderpuri Sahib. After graduating from Rishi Bankim Chandra College, Naihati (Kolkata University) in 1972, I came to my maternal home in Ara. I kept learning the art of poetry from Mr. 'Hafiz' Banarasi Sahib and Mr. Talha Rizvi 'Barq' Sahib. My ghazal collections have been published in Urdu - Lams ka Suraj and Rang-e-Hunar and in Hindi - Sawan ka Kanwal, Shohrat ki Dhoop, Sparsh ki Chandni, Swallowing Ghazals, and Amrit Kaal ki Modern Ghazals. I have edited several collections of ghazals. I wish to present my ghazals and selected couplets to you through this website

Before my address and name all disappeared, I, Ramesh Prasad, was an officer of Bihar Administrative Service till 31st August 2013. Retired from the level of Joint Secretary. I also held the post of ADM Law and Order in Patna for almost three years. I recite Ghazals under the name of Ramesh Kanwal. I am a Hindi-Bhojpuri speaker. I know Urdu language (and script too). Earlier I used to write poetry under the name of 'Kanwal' Shahabadi and Ramesh Prasad 'Kanwal'. When I used to live in Jagdal of 24 Parganas district in West Bengal, I used to take guidance from Mr. 'Wafa' Sikanderpuri.

My first collection of ghazals in Urdu came to the public in 1997 with the name 'Lam's Suraj'. My first ghazal collection was published in the same year by Meyar Publications with the name 'Sawan Ka Kanwal'. Iram Publications, Patna published my second collection of ghazals in 2016 with the title 'Range-Hunar'. The poetry collections 'Shohrat Ki Dhoop' published in 2013 and 'Sparsh Ki Chandni' published in 2019 are collections of my ghazals, songs and poems. Then I compiled and edited many collections of ghazals, in which the first collection was 'Aqidat Ke Phool' (2020) by my Ustad 'Hafiz' Banarasi. 'Representative Ghazals of 2020' (2021), 'Best Ghazals of the Twenty-First Year of the 21st Century' (2022) and 'One of a Kind Unique Ghazals' (2022).
Currently, a poetic effort to promote and preserve Sanatan culture titled 'Vandan! Shubh Abhivandan!!' and 'Gazals of Amrit Mahotsav' of the 75th year of Independence are the books to be published soon. 'Gazals restless on Facebook'
